Knowledge of Purpose Determines what is Required to be Done – Dr Zakir Naik

Assalamu Alaikum Dr Zakir Naik, my name is Dawoud Al Gooni. I am a Muslim and I live in Cameroon. I am a secondary school student in Adamawa.

Question: In the Qur’an, we see verses like Surah Al-Muddaththir 74:55-56, Surah Al-Insan 76:29-30, and Surah At-Takwir 81:28-29. In one verse, Allah says that whoever wills may take a reminder or follow the straight path, but immediately after, He says that people cannot will unless Allah wills. How do we reconcile human free will with the will of Allah? Is this not a contradiction?

I would be very grateful if you could kindly explain this in a simple and logical way so I can understand better. JazakAllahu Khair.
