What majority people confuse is that historic Bengal has nothing t odo with Bangladesh. The modern day Bangladesh is the frontier swamp lands that was only brought into Bengal subah in 16th century by the sufis sent by Akbar. All the historic Bengali port cities and production came from Indian West Bengal and Jharkhand. Dhaka is the only capital, a short lived one which was much smaller than India's murshidabad. The Senas and the Murshid Quli Khan, the founder of Bengal subah was from Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. The historical area was Vanga, the west bank of Hooghly. Padma changed only recently that's when the tribals of frontier lands started converting to Islam. The real Bengal region lies in the West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand. From Rajmahal, to Munger to Kolkata, it is all in India. What Bangladesh has today is just a faction of Bengal, and it alone do not have the resources to be what it was in Mughal era
