It is not idol worship but deity worship. A deity has intelligent consciousness of the same universal consciousness and different deities are different facets or aspects or level of consciousness of the same ONE entity. Hindus worship God as either energiser, or energy or sustainer or giver of grace or one who remembers your past lives and one who grants you your wishes. Each deity is consecrated with the intelligent vibration of the universal consciousness. Hence there are many names of the same ONE universal entity, THAT IS RELEVANT TO EACH FUNCTION OR ASPECT OR FACET. All are one and the same one 'person' or entity but each is a different aspect of the one. 
Everything in creation emanates from this ONE same universal consciousness AND EVERYTHING WILL ONE DAY DISSOLVE BACK INTO THIS CONSCIOUSNESS. This is what Quantum Physics also says. Understand the principle of 'One to many and many to one'.
All this is NOT found in the Quran. Only found in the Vedas. Understand what is consciousness. Consciousness is a living entity of infinite intelligence and power. Vedas is more intellectual than Quran.

There are many religions because all are different manifestations of the same one universal infinite superconsciousness present everywhere, revealed to different people at different points in time and understood by different people having different levels of intelligent consciousness.Still, all are worshipping the same 'entity' but different approach only. Quran does not have this concept of universal superconsciousness.

Do note that by believing in Religion, it cannot save us. Only Jesus who died on the cross can make us right before. Religion whether it hindu Buddhist Islam do not provide any solution or Salvation. They only tell you to believe in God and do good deeds.
There is nothing wrong to do good deed. Jesus taught us to love our neighbour, to feed the poor, take care of the orphans and the windows. Human beings who are created in the image of God and doing good deeds is our nature. So there is no need to boost about how much good deeds you have done. Just do it.

Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship that brought us to God. GOD Is more interested to know us but because of our sin, we feel that we are not good enough to come before him. The solution is because the sin in us that make us fall short of God standard. That is why Jesus Christ came into the world many thousand years ago and He died on the cross to forgive human being and to bring us back to God. Christianity is not a religion, it is God establishing his relationship with human being becos of what Jesus had done. So Christian are the children of son. If you don't have jesus, our sin are not forgiven and you will face God's judgement when Jesus return.

So how can I know I am forgiven of my sin?
The answer is through the death of Jesus on the cross.

Salvation is free and it is the grace of God to show us mercy. Salvation is available to all the nations, races, tribes. By the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we sinners are purify.

How can one go to heaven? This question is always one of the mystery we want to know as human being. We know we are born sinners inherited this from out fore- father Adam.

God seems to be so far away, how are we able to read his mind what He expects from human being. If God keep silent, we will never know His mind.

The Good news is God reveal Himself as recorded in the Bible. At one point in history, He took on the flesh of the human, being born through virgin Mary so that He can be with us. GOD reach down to us. JESUS is called Emmanuel (God with us), John Gospel said the Word become Flesh. GOD took on the human body so as to reveal to us who He is.
