Ibrahim, peace be upon him, is one of the five greatest Prophets in Islam. He is the father of Ishaaq and Ismail, and through his lineage through Ismail, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was born. Born into a family of idol-makers, he rejected idolatry from a young age, confronted his people, and was thrown into a blazing fire. Allah commanded the fire: be cool, be peaceful. He walked out untouched.
Allah gave him one of the highest titles a Prophet can carry: Khalilullah, the intimate friend of God. The Kaabah at the centre of Islam was built by his hands. Every Hajj, every Adhan, every prayer in which his name is mentioned carries his legacy forward. He is the father of Prophets, and the patriarch of our Ummah.
