This is a slippery slope. I mean sure I want people to prosper I want every human being on planet Earth to prosper no matter what their ethnicity or religion. That is what all of us humans should and can work towards. I've seen Christians in my home nation of the United States go on this prosperity of a certain religion mindset. It's evil.
So true, people often have half-knowledge about the Sahabah, most were experts in their respective fields and trade is something that often comes up in the Seerah, our Prophet (peace be upon him) was a Trader for Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her)
They didn’t live minimalistic lives out of laziness or circumstance, but because they KEPT giving away their wealth. I don’t know when this idea of poverty being humility came into the Ummah and then normalised but you can’t have a functioning household let alone a Khilafah if you’re dirt broke.
Ask Allah, and hone your craft, keep your intentions for Allah alone and may Allah bless us all.
