No contradiction at all, Jesus the Man was born of a Virgin, but Christ the Son the Second Person of the Trinity existed from all eternity with the Father before the Creation of the world. There was a beginning to His Earthly Incarnation but All of the universe was created by and through and for Him and is sustained only by Him, the Eternal Word of God who was in the beginning with God and was God.
This is the most basic Christian doctrine of the hypoststic union which anyone could have explained to him, how embarrassing for Muslims.
