In this episode of the OnePath Podcast, we sit down with Dr. Rehan Zaidi, a Canadian Muslim physician and author of “The Divine for Critical Minds: A Rational Investigation into God’s Existence,” whose 20-year investigation into science, Western philosophy, and Islamic theology produced one of the most rigorous cases for God’s existence written for a Western Muslim audience.
What does it actually mean to take atheist arguments seriously? Dr. Zaidi grew up surrounded by atheist friends in Canada, studied medicine, then spent years learning Arabic in Jordan and Syria before devoting a decade to writing a book that applies the scientific method to the question of God’s existence. We walk through his response to Richard Dawkins, the Hidden God argument from Alex O’Connor, the fatal flaws in scientific materialism, and the limits of debate culture in Islamic da’wah. I've read his book. It's very ambitious and shows great effort. It's up there with Sami Ameri's "Is Muhammad Truly A Prophet of God?" But it still falls short if you're steeped in the relevant literature. His science is outdated and inaccurate/overstated. His philosophical argument is strangely unclear in its presentation, and he doesn't prove God's existence as successfully as other attempts. His evidential case for Islam is appreciable but ultimately incompatible with the HCM-Western scholarship/modern academic study of Islam. Good effort and still worth reading though 🙂
Atheist doubts have 2 main approaches against Islam.
1: Emotional. Problem of evil, but your prophet did such and such that we don't like in modern Western society, etc. And the second half of that is often false, because many atheists have spent many years doing the same things, and many still do today.
2: The best explanation for existence, order and intelligibility of the universe, llife, consciousness, etc is an impersonal and inexplicable universe that exists for no reason, has these laws for no reason, produced life from non life for some reason, produced consciousness from non consciousness for some reason, and produced humans who seek meaning accidentally through evolution.
Both of those approaches are obviously nonsense. That is clearly not the best explanation either lol, the highest levels atheists just insist it is because, and I quote "well we only believe in what we can see, so our worldview is more simple, Occam's razor." This ignores that the best explanation is the simplest one that still best explains all the data. Atheism struggles hard with the data, while monotheism explains all of it while incorporating the scientific method (the modern version of which was developed by Muslims)

Atheism is just accepting the overwhelming scientific evidence for evolution – which includes DNA, fossil, embryology etc.
This evidence cannot and does not rule out the possibility of a supreme being.
But it does rule out the supreme being the 'God' in the Bible because the overwhelming scientific evidence for evolution totally contradicts the Bible account of human origins which is based on a fictional 6,000 year-old Earth where Neanderthals never existed etc.
We all have some Neanderthal DNA because our human ancestors migrating from Africa mated with Neanderthals.
Further evidence is the fact that Africans whose ancestors have never left Africa have no Neanderthal DNA.
Religion still survives because it's a powerful tool of control for its many powerful, wealthy vested interests and no evidence is required by believers to support religious claims.
Tragic for truth and justice.

While the vast majority of religious believers are good and sincere in their beliefs, the religious institutions are firmly embedded with the ruling elites in every religious country.
