The Power of Ayat-ul-Kursi – The Majestic Quran
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever recites Ayat-ul Kursi after each obligatory prayer will enter Paradise, and nothing can stop them” (Nasa’i). This verse is a staple in the lives of the devout, offering divine protection when recited before sleep.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) also stated, “Adam is the father of humanity, and I am the leader of the Arabs – not out of pride. Salman is the master of the Persians, Suhaib of the Romans, and Bilal of the Black people. Friday is the best day of the week, the Quran is the best speech of God, Surat Al-Baqarah is the best chapter of the Quran, and Ayat-ul Kursi is the best verse in Al-Baqarah” (Daylami).
Ayat-ul Kursi is a vivid declaration of Allah’s Oneness, Majesty and Generosity. It’s more than just words – it’s a profound way to connect with Allah and a reminder of His unparalleled power.
The Virtues of Ayat-ul Kursi
The virtues of Ayat-ul Kursi are countless. It’s a verse that Muslims around the world memorise and recite regularly, whether before travelling, going to bed, or beginning important tasks. It’s no surprise that our homes, shops, and Masajid are adorned with this verse in beautiful calligraphy.

Ayat-ul Kursi teaches us that Allah is the ultimate, independent being, while everything else depends on Him. When we understand this, our worldly concerns fade in comparison to His infinite reality. Unlike the idea that everything is God, the truth is that everything belongs to Allah.
No one has the right to stand before Him or intercede without His permission. Yet, in His wisdom, Allah will permit certain people to help or intercede on their behalf. Allah’s knowledge is infinite and beyond time or space, while our understanding is limited, only reflecting a small part of His divine reality when aligned with His will. So, let’s recite Ayat-ul Kursi as much as possible.
The Throne Verse: A Glorious Portrayal of Allah
Allah, there is no god but Him! He is The Living, The Everlasting. Neither tiredness nor sleep overwhelm Him. All that is in The Heavens and on Earth belongs to Him. Who dares intercede without His permission? He knows what they have achieved and what they have failed to do, but they can only grasp what He wishes of His knowledge. His Majestic Throne extends over the Heavens and the Earth, and He never tires of protecting them both. He is The Exalted, The Majestic. [Baqarah: 255]
