On the Identity of Jesus (Isa):
Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, not the Son of God.
But if the Qur'an itself calls Jesus "a Word from God and a Spirit from Him" (Qur'an 4:171), how can He be just another messenger?
Compare that to John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
So, which testimony is more consistent: the Qur'an's or the Bible's?
On Assurance of Salvation:
Islam teaches that your deeds are weighed, and even Muhammad said:
“I do not know what will happen to me or to you.” (Qur'an 46:9)
But how can we follow a prophet who himself was unsure of his eternal destiny?
Meanwhile, Jesus says in John 10:28: “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.”
Who gives greater assurance of salvation: Muhammad or Jesus?
If salvation in Islam depends on the balance of good and bad deeds, how can anyone be sure of paradise when even Muhammad said he didn't know his own fate?
“Say, [O Muhammad], ‘I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you.’” (Qur'an 46:9)
— Whereas Jesus in Christianity confidently declares in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Who offers true assurance?
If the Qur'an denies Jesus as the Son of God, how can He still be called the "Word" and "Spirit" from God, titles that imply divinity?
“The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [spirit] from Him.” (Qur'an 4:171)
— In Christianity, John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
How can these titles be reconciled?
🕋 Guardian's Duty for Deceased's Missed Fast: If someone dies without making up missed obligatory fasts, the guardian should fast on their behalf, according to one scholarly opinion.
🍞 Feeding Poor for Missed Ramadan Fasts: If someone is alive but unable to fast due to valid reasons (sickness, old age), they should feed a poor person for each missed fast, based on Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184.
🤔 Two Opinions on Deceased's Missed Fast: Scholars are divided:
One group says the guardian must fast on behalf of the deceased.
Another group says feeding a poor person is sufficient, based on Hadith.
🕌 Hadith of Aisha (RA): Aisha reported that the guardian should fast for someone who died with missed fasts (Bukhari 3:1952), supporting the first opinion.
🥘 Hadith of Amra (RA): She was told to feed a poor person for each missed fast by her mother, not fast on her behalf (Muwatta 4:422), supporting the second opinion.
🌙 Distinction Between Ramadan and Vowed Fasts: Ramadan fasts should be compensated by feeding the poor, while vowed fasts require the guardian to fast on behalf of the deceased.
🍽 General Ruling for Ramadan Fasts: If the missed fasts were during Ramadan, feeding a poor person for each fast is recommended, according to scholars.
🙏 Hadith of Abbas (RA): If someone vows to fast and doesn't fulfill it, the guardian must fast for them, as per Hadith (Abu Dawood 2:2395).
💡 Conclusion: For missed Ramadan fasts, feed the poor; for vowed fasts, the guardian must fast on their behalf.
