Australia’s most decorated living soldier, Ben Roberts-Smith, has been arrested over alleged war crimes committed during his deployment in Afghanistan. Authorities allege that he was involved in the killing of unarmed civilians, including detainees who posed no threat. Among the accusations are claims he kicked a handcuffed prisoner off a cliff before ordering his execution, and separately authorised the killing of a disabled man whose prosthetic leg was later taken and used as a trophy.
