The whole point of the beard was because in Arabia the Arabs who were pagan would shave their beard but keeps their moustache so the Arabs who followed Islam did the opposite. It was a culture war. However, these Arab pagans have been gone for more than a thousand years. So keeping a beard isn’t necessary.
