Allahu Akbar. As a Malaysian (from a small country), I’ve spent most of my life thinking that the practices I follow were just part of our culture. However, I’ve come to realize that these practices—hygiene, humility, charity, and our sense of connection with others—are deeply rooted in Islam.
When we look deeper, we see that everything Allah has taught us is out of His immense love and mercy. The way we live our lives—our daily actions, interactions, and choices—is all meant to bring us closer to Allah and to live in harmony with the world He has created. I think we often focus so much on Allah as the ultimate judge, waiting to punish us for our wrongs, that we forget His mercy and compassion are greater than we can ever fathom.
Islam is not just about performing rituals; it’s a complete way of life. Every act, no matter how small, can be an expression of love and worship if done with the right intention. I believe we should emphasize Allah’s mercy more, as it’s through His mercy that we grow, improve, and find peace in our lives
