  1. No ancient religious text explicitly states that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Most older religious interpretations consider the Earth as the center of the universe (geocentric), with the Sun and stars revolving around it. This view appears in traditional interpretations of the Bible, the Quran, and some ancient Hindu texts. According to modern astronomy, this is scientifically incorrect: the Earth revolves around the Sun!
The Quran does not state anywhere that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Instead, it presents the Sun and the Moon as tools for measuring time. Quran 55:5
However, time (a day) is created by the Earth’s rotation on its axis in 24 hours, and a year is created by the Earth’s revole around the Sun — not by the Sun revolving around the Earth.
In the past, people believed that the solar calendar was based on the movement of the Sun, but this is not correct. The solar calendar is actually based on the movement of the Earth. This shows that Author of Quran did not know that the time of the solar calendar comes from the Earth’s motion, not from the Sun’s motion.
    Quranic Verse (55:5) Explanation:
The Sun and the Moon are described as tools for calculation. This verse does not explain how days or years are formed; it only indicates that there is a system to measure time.
    Scientific Reality:
A day of 24 hours is created by the rotation of the Earth on its axis.
A year of 365 days is created by the Earth’s revolution around the Sun.
The movement of the Sun and Moon serves only as a sign for measuring time, not the actual cause.
    Contradiction:
The Quran implies that time can be measured by the movement of the Sun and Moon, but in reality, days and years are determined by the Earth’s motion, not the Sun or Moon.
From this perspective, there is a scientific contradiction between the Quranic description and modern astronomy.
If we look only at the words of the Quran, it is correct that the Quran does not mention the Earth's rotation around the Sun or its axial rotation. The Sun and the Moon are described as measures of time, but the Earth's movements are not mentioned in relation to the calculation of days or years.
In any religion, there is no clear mention of the Earth revolving around the Sun or rotating on its axis.
Modern astronomy confirms that the Earth rotates on its axis (causing day and night) and revolves around the Sun (causing the year and seasons). These facts are supported by extensive observations, physics, and space exploration, independent of religious texts.

If the Moon revolves around the Earth, it makes sense to call it a lunar calendar.
But if the Earth revolves around the Sun, then logically it should be called an Earth (terrestrial) calendar.
So why is it called a solar calendar?
Because people of that era believed that the Sun revolved around the Earth.

And that is why the Qur’an does not mention the Earth’s orbit around the Sun, because people of that era believed that the Sun revolved around the Earth.

Quran 10:5 mentions that the Sun and the Moon are tools for measuring time and calculating months and days. The Quran does not mention that the Earth rotates and revolves around the Sun for this purpose.

The Quran was revealed in the 7th century, when people believed that the Sun revolved around the Earth and that the Earth was stationary. At that time, people did not have modern astronomical knowledge, so the Quran did not mention such scientific facts that were discovered later by modern science.
