Totally ridiculous to tie virtue with being a servant of the husband’s whole family. it’s actually a shar’i right for the husband to provide independent quarters for his wife. This whole idea that the husband’s family effectively own the movement of the wife has caused so many disastrous marriages that I’ve seen. This may be common among Indo Pakistanis, but it’s not common in many, many other Muslim cultures.
