Messengers After Muhammad – Join islam
A common misunderstanding among Muslims was that Muhammad was the final messenger. Nowhere in the Quran does it state that Muhammad was the final messenger, only that he was the final prophet.
[33:40] Muhammad was not the father of any man among you. He was a messenger of GOD and the final prophet. GOD is fully aware of all things.
The Quran informs us that as long as human beings are living on earth, He can continue sending messengers.
[7:35] O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
I recently came across a couple new arguments from the Quran confirming that Muhammad was not the final messenger.
ARGUMENT #1: 7:52-53
The first argument was presented by the YouTube channel Muhammad from God at the ~56-minute mark in the video below.
He cites verses 52 and 53 of Sura 7: The Purgatory (Al-A‘arãf) for this proof. Below is the literal translation.
[7:52] We have given them a scripture that is fully detailed, with knowledge, guidance, and mercy for the people who believe.
[7:53] Are they waiting until its interpretation. The day its interpretation comes, those who disregarded it in the past will say, “The messengers of our Lord have brought the truth. Are there any intercessors to intercede on our behalf? Would you send us back, so that we change our behavior, and do better works than what we did?” They have lost their souls, and their own innovations have caused their doom.
Verse 52 begins by speaking of the Quran when it references the Kitab being given to certain people. In verse 53, the first sentence states, “Are they waiting for its interpretation.” The “they” here are those who were already given the Quran. This is apparent from the previous verse, which states, “We have given them a scripture fully detailed.” It is also clear that what was given to them was the Quran. Yet, when the judgment comes, the people who were given the Quran and disregarded it in the past will state that the “messengers” (plural) brought the truth. This implies that multiple messengers gave its interpretation.
1 | hal | هَلْ | Are |
2 | yanẓurūna | يَنظُرُونَ | they waiting |
3 | illā | إِلَّا | except / until |
4 | tawīlahu | تَأْوِيلَهُۥ | (for) its determination. |
5 | yawma | يَوْمَ | (The) Day |
6 | yatī | يَأْتِى | [it] comes |
7 | tawīluhu | تَأْوِيلُهُۥ | its determination, |
ARGUMENT #2: 40:70
The next finding, extracted from Sura 40, verse 70, was presented by the author of the blog “Submission to God” on the Submission Discord Server. For context, we will start from 40:69.
[40:69] Have you noted those who argue against GOD’s proofs (ayat), and how they have deviated?
[40:70] They are the ones who have disbelieved in the scripture, and in what we have sent with our messengers. Therefore, they will surely find out.
Again, we see a pattern similar to the previous example. The verse begins by mentioning “the scripture” ( ٱلكتب ) “al-kitab” (singular) but then ends by mentioning “what we sent with our messengers (plural).”
Here is a word-by-word breakdown of the verse.
1 | alladhīna | ٱلَّذِينَ | Those who |
2 | kadhabū | كَذَّبُوا۟ | [they] denied / disbelieved |
3 | bil-kitābi | بِٱلْكِتَـٰبِ | in the book / scripture |
4 | wabimā | وَبِمَآ | and in what |
5 | arsalnā | أَرْسَلْنَا | we sent |
6 | bihi | بِهِۦ | therein |
7 | rusulanā | رُسُلَنَا | our messengers; |
8 | fasawfa | فَسَوْفَ | but soon |
9 | yaʿlamūna | يَعْلَمُونَ | they will know. |
Or, looking at it another way
By saying “messengers,” the verse signifies that multiple messengers will be sent to those who reject the Quran. If we continue reading, we see that this is regarding the upholders of lies, which are most notably in the context of the Quran, the fabrications of Hadith and Sunnah.
[40:75] This is because you used to rejoice in other than the truth on earth, and you used to promote them.
This verse is similar to another verse in Sura 4, verse 60.
[4:60] Have you noted those who claim that they believe in what was revealed to you, and in what was revealed before you, then uphold the unjust laws of their idols? They were commanded to reject such laws. Indeed, it is the devil’s wish to lead them far astray.
This shows that their rejection of the Quran is not that they do not claim it is from God, but that they are setting up other sources besides it and thus going against the commandments in the scripture.
[45:6] These are GOD’s revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than GOD and His revelations do they believe?
[45:7] Woe to every fabricator, guilty.
Then, if we go to 40:78, we see it circle back to the concept of messengers of God, which states something very telling about the matter. It states that not all the messengers were mentioned to the prophet, and secondly, that no messenger can produce a miracle (ayat) without God’s authorization.
[40:78] We have sent messengers before you—some of them we mentioned to you, and some we did not mention to you. No messenger can produce any miracle (ayah) without GOD’s authorization. Once GOD’s judgment is issued, the truth dominates, and the falsifiers are exposed and humiliated.
This verse informs us that a sign of a messenger of God is that they will provide a sign by God’s leave to confirm their messengership. This circles back to 40:69, which started by addressing those who argue against God’s signs (ayat). Interestingly, we can all witness this for ourselves today.
Dr. Rashad Khalifa produced a miracle, by God’s leave, as a sign for his messengership, that of Code 19. Code 19 confirms and authenticates the Quran and removes the confusion people had regarding the preservation and transmission of the Quran and its various recensions. Additionally, he shined a light on all the idol worship (shirk) that has infiltrated the religion, most notably the worship of Muhammad and the upholding of the satanic doctrine of Hadith.
By God’s leave, he purified the religion back to the worship of God alone, and for that, he was martyred. Yet, still today, many Muslims fight the message he delivered, that of worshiping God alone and following the Quran alone, and the proof that he delivered, that of the mathematical structure of the Quran via Code 19, and thus argue against the signs of God, just like it was prophesied in the Quran.
[40:69] Have you noted those who argue against GOD’s proofs (ayat), and how they have deviated?
[40:70] They are the ones who have disbelieved in the scripture, and in what we have sent with our messengers. Therefore, they will surely find out.
