Do you Agree with Bhagwad Geeta which says God will Appear in Every Age to Destroy Evil? – Dr Zakir Naik

Questioner: Assalamu Alaikum, I am Muhammad Fazl-ur-Rehman Abdullah. Aa…. Sir we are still on 11th September, I want to say something on this, that as you told that, as you told that there is something fishy in the proof, that’s why they didn’t prove, Aa … put the proof, I got this fish on the net, there is site,, that have been banned actually, but I got one page in that, that there were two pictures displayed on that, one was the actor who acted as Osama bin Laden in the film displayed to all, and other was Osama bin Laden. And the title was “Any fool with two eyes can see easily that these two persons are not same”
That was the proof when America put it before that, another thing, my question is, that, I was, I’m working in hl. We are given a hand book which contains do’s and don’ts. On the top of the handbook there was written a Bhagvad Gita shlok. A part of the Bhagavad Gita shlok, I will recite the whole shlok like,

“Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya,
Glanir Bhawati Bharata,
Abhyutanam Dharmasya,
Tataatmaan Sajjaymaham,
Pritaanaay Sadhunam,
Vinashay Krushika,
Dharma Santhapana Thayasham,
Sam Bhavaani Yuge Yuge”
They, they specially mentioned it that, “Pritaanaay Sadhunam Vinashay Krushika” …. If we have to, if we have to protect the truth or the good, you have to remove the bad, there is no other way.
Ok, after that I, I want that that last that that shlok is that “Dharma Santhapana Thayasham Sam Bhavaani Yuge Yuge”
It means that “Mein Har Jug Mein Sambha… Bhagwaan Kehte Hai….. Mein Har Yug Mein Sambhav Hota Hoon”… (Translation: I Manifest My Self…. God says, I Manifest Myself in every age) ….
But what our belief is, our Hindu brother belief is that “Mein Har Yug Mein Aata Hoon” (Translation: I Manifest Myself in every age) …. (Hindu)…. I want Mr. Zakir Naik to explain this, are these beliefs of we are having is correct or not, thank you.
Dr. Zakir Naik: I request again from the audience and the volunteers we prefer questions from Non Muslims so that lets clarify their misconception and then come to the Muslims, they may be attending several programmes as such
I normally prefer giving a chance to the non-Muslim they may not be having this chance regularly to ask any question on Islam.
The brother has posed a question, before that he made a comment that there was a fish on the net, and he saw that one proof was authentic and the original Osama bin Laden was false, again this fish could also be fishy.
So I’m not only one sided, haan, that proof you got is correct even that could be cooked of by somebody who is enemy of America. So I don’t believe on that fish also. So see I have to be neutral, I cannot be biased and start judging, saying haan brother you are right, you know the proof they gave, arre that also could have been cooked up, that’s what you have in ‘TEHELKA’ you know ‘TEHELKA’. ‘Tehelka’ the audio cassettes, the video cassette, so all this is a gimmick of media, see I’m a man of the media… we know if we want we can change very easy. To change something on the media is very easy, I can make you say what you have not said also, that’s our field, so it’s very easy, so let’s keep the media aside, again that also I don’t agree what is right or wrong, ‘Allahu Alam’ there is no proof at all…

  1. When you say that almighty god sends messengers, you are deifying god (giving him form, identity, character). I believe this is against the teachings of the Koran (if not then you agree that it is ok for people to worship God in the form of idols (which does not mean they are worshiping the idol, but simply acknowledging the belief that God is existing in and behind all creation)).

Secondly, the sloka from the B. Gita has a much deeper, empirical meaning. If you have a bad tooth, you go to a dentist. Similarly, in this instance, ask someone who is really knowledgeable about the B. Gita and also I don't think it's wise to look at an individual sloka as one can miss the context. In this instance, the sloka has been reduced to a silly argument of messenger vs avatar. If God comes down as an avatar, it does not mean he is absent everywhere else. Similarly for the messenger. The messenger is a 100% representative of God, so God is inherent in him. Ergo: no difference.

People split hairs in ignorance in order to sow misunderstanding and division or to show how clever they are. Unfortunately in doing so, both sources (the Koran and the B. Gita) are debased and reduced to intellectual ego points. In the Vedas, we say that, that which comes out of the mouth is "jutha" false. If you want to understand the truth of God, then best to keep quiet and go deep. You were born with his power but no speech and yet you think to find him through a secondary acquired skill namely speech. This is akin to saying that what I, a mortal, create is greater than which HE has created. This surely, is the biggest insult to Allah!

    1- introduction and divine uniqueness

    2-existence of God

    3-rules of application.

1- First of all, let us define reason and see its reliability: reason consists in understanding, ordering, prohibiting or administering through its distinction between good and evil to reach the reasonable one who serves and does not serve.

Let's see if reason is reliable:everyone of good reason confirms that reason is educated by its environment from a young age in order to distinguish good from evil, true from false,it starts with: fire or needle hurts, milk makes good, then truth and lie, with internal and external verification by experience, then we generalize to the extension of reason (like happiness and unhappiness) and to the abstract by returning from time to time to the experience of reason by recognized examples, so we can say that reason is reliable.

As for the ego, the self, it has its importance in my subject, because it compares and seeks (in cooperation with the reason) the ideal, the most powerful because the top is the most reasonable for him otherwise if a strong thing is not enough for him,he will get tired of it and look for something stronger than it, he'll be unhappy, in relative insecurity, because he's looking for the solid pillar, hence the expression "in myself something" to say that it's not satisfactory.

Definition of worship in religion: to submit oneself to a being or a thing by love and veneration, to believe that it is useful and harmful (we see the link with the definition of reason and its combination with the ego and that then we live to worship anything and in a correct and reasonable way we seek "summit" happiness (for the ego, the summit is the most satisfying for the heart-ego) through that being or that thing since we take the reasonable).

Definition of a god:a god is a being or a thing that we worship or is worshipful (worshipful=which deserves to be worshipped),we will be satisfied (this is the goal) to take the definition of a god as a being or a thing that is worshipful

Equivalence "a god" and "he is a creator (from nothing)":

A creator (from nothing) is a god: everything around us is made up of already existing elements, so creation from nothing is superior and it is the most impressive form of creation so it is summit (the heart and the ego confirm), so any creator from nothing is a god.

Every god is a creator: if a god was not a creator then he would not deserve to be a god because God the Necessary Being (see part 2) is a creator (the creator see 2), therefore superior to that god, therefore that god does not deserve (for reason and ego) to be a god, he does not bring anything more, hence every god is a creator.Hence the equivalence.

God the creator, the necessary being is the summit for the heart-ego: if he had a superior then that superior would be unknown, erased, moreover for the heart-ego it would imply that the necessary being is no longer a god (the heart-ego sees higher) therefore no longer a creator whereas it is the necessary being (contradiction) therefore that superior is not a god therefore is not a creator therefore God is uncreated and is at the summit.

God is unique: if there were two different gods (at the summit), then either their will is different, then either each god applies his will (as they are gods it applies to the whole universe (not erased god)) then it is impossible (if their will is different at the same point),seeing the universe as it is without defect, and it is harmonious( else:if the different will of each god at a same point applies we then have a form of contradiction, from which we have the same will (contraposition)) and If one of the two gods imposes his will on the other, then the other is weak and therefore is no longer a god (contradiction), so their will coincides on everything, so it means that one flatters (strokes) the other, so it makes the ego-heart feel a weakness of this god in its power, so is no longer a god, so there is only one god, or again: if the two gods have their will which coincides in every point ,then they constitute a god of their union but God being at the top (the ideal), an indivisible god who creates, possesses and administers everything by himself is more impressive than several gods together, hence God is unique in every case. This reasoning applies even if there is a universe we do not know, because God (worshipful) must act everywhere otherwise he is no longer a god.

    2-existence of God:

There is an administrator for the universe:any example:a palace hyper organized in decorations, arrangements, household,if you are told:this palace does not have a butler(administrator),you will answer:it is not possible that it happens by itself without anybody, your distinctive healthy reason rejects it (you are not crazy),therefore all the more so (a fortiori): (organization much, much better than the palace) all the organization and harmony of nature and the universe make you reject that there is no administrator for the whole universe (we can already say that it is unique, the cycles and others are the mark of the same author, for example nike is the mark of a single manufacturer, example of all the atoms of the universe same process therefore same mark therefore same author), so there is an administrator for the whole universe, and even it is obliged to think that otherwise it is chaos,. ..and many many other examples like the ship without a captain,… there is a creator of the universe: You see a humanoid walking around and you're told no one created him. You're not crazy. Your reason will reject that.So a fortiori, all the more so Your good reason will reject that man has no creator. So There is a creator of the universe, and so on throughout creation, but again the whole universe has the same mark (like nike), so the same author, so the creator is unique and the administration of his creation is the same (layout, arrangement of the way of creating) so the creator is the administrator. As He is unique, He is the great owner of the universe, and He is the one who makes the rules of the universe (such as the instructions of the electrical appliances (operation, maintenance), so it has been proved that the universe has one Lord (the Creator, the owner and the administrator) and He is the only one who deserves to be worshipped, so He is the only God. Otherwise, as God the Creator is at the top, He is also the owner and the administrator. All this is the domain of the reasonable and if you come out of it you are no longer in the reasonable (chaos).

Conclusion: Divine existence and oneness are then demonstrated by reason, but reason does not say everything that God wants from us, hence the prophets and messengers.

3- Application: The verse of the Qur'an that says that there is no god except Allah means that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah, so it means that there is no imperfection on any face, so the Qur'an, its word, has no imperfection since it is one of its characteristics and therefore one face of its perfection, Therefore, by the perfection of the Qur'an (read it in Arabic to see this reality and its explanation) and the uniqueness of the true (you must respect the rules of this book if you are honest) you must take the best interpretation of the verses and the Sunnah (path) of the Prophet (the Qur'an calls to follow the Prophet therefore apply his hadiths (hadiths=words in Arabic) and you must reconcile between the verses (of the Qur'an) and the verses, and verses/hadiths hadiths/hadiths (authentic) because the truth is quite unique and the best sought after is perfection (so correct yours intentions), for example the thief the penalty starts at 1/4 gold dinar, it costs (recently) 39€ for its weight in gold whereas a meal costs 5€, source: the pious predecessors (rule: the Koran says to follow the prophet and the prophet spoke of the first three generations which are the best and he said (ask your heart for clarification), and Allah calls in the Koran to the good and known between the good people (conciliation), etc,. .go on with the rest of the rules of Islam if you are honest (seek the best, perfection, truth, conciliation).

There are rules in Islam and if you don't follow them you find imperfections (which reflect your bad intention), while when you correct your intention you find perfection (it exists, scholars communicate it to each other, I have been reading books about Islam in Arabic for a long time, I testify and I testify that this perfection exists. Why don't you take it if it is possible and the rules of Islam are to take it, hence your attacks are unfounded since this is not what God and his prophet mean (i.e : your words that it is imperfection). ..

  7. There is no last messenger as claimed by Zakir Naik or the Koran. I do not want to discuss about Islam here but since there was a question put forth as a Hindu I believe for every age or Yug GOD takes the form of man or Avathar as we say to teach man the righteous path and destroy evil. If you say GOD cannot do so means the GOD Muslims believe in does not have such powers to manifest. There is nothing beyond the power of GOD.

    1. Say this 3 times for 6 hours worth of reward: Subhan-Allahi Wa bihamdihi, ‘adada khalqihi, wa rida-a nafsihi, wa zinata ‘arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi(Glory and praise be to Allah, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, as much as the weight of His Throne, equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise).” (Muslim)

    2. It was narrated that Abu Umaamah said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi immediately after each prescribed prayer, there will be nothing standing between him and his entering Paradise except death.” (An Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban)

    3. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He who says, ‘Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi‘ (Glory and praise be to Allah) one hundred times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the sea. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

    4. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet said:“There are two statements that are light on the tongue, heavy on the scales, and beloved to the Most Merciful: Subahana Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhana Allahi Al-`Azeem (Glory and praise be to Allah, Glorified is Allah, the Most Great.)” (Al-Bukhari)

    5. Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet said: He who repeats after every prayer: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah) thirty-three times, Al-hamdu lillah (praise be to Allah) thirty-three times, Allahu Akbar (Allah is Greatest) thirty-three times; and completes the hundred with: La ilaha illallahu, wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa `ala kulli shai’in qadir (There is no true god except Allah. He is One and He has no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is Omnipotent)Will have all his sins pardoned even if they may be as large as the foam on the surface of the sea.” (Muslim)

    6. Zaid ibn Harithah narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whosoever says: ‘Astaghfirullaha al-`Azeem al-ladhi la ilaha illa howa Al-Hayy al-Qayyum wa atubu illayh(I ask forgiveness of Allah, the Magnificent, than Whom there is no deity, the Living, the Sustainer of existence, and I turn to Him in repentance,) his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (while he was engaged in fighting for the Cause of Allah, which is a grave sin in Islam). (Abu Dawud and authenticated by Al-Albani)

    7. Whoever reads Surah Ikhlas ten times, Allah will build a palace for him in Paradise. ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) exclaimed, “If that’s the case, then we will increase in our palaces!” The Prophet ﷺ (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) responded, “Allah is better and greater (in reward).” [Ahmad]

    8. Whoever reads Surat al-Kahf on Friday, it will act as a light/protection for him from one Friday to the next. [Bayhaqi]

    9. Whoever performs their ablution carefully and then affirms (their faith by testifying): “Ash-hadu an laa ilaha il Allah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan `abduhu wa rasuluhu; Allahumma-ja’lni min at-tawaabeen waj-a’lni min al-mutatahireen”: ‘I testify that there is no true deity except Allah Alone, Who has no partners, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His slave and Messenger; O Allah, make me from those who repent and purify themselves’ – the eight gates of Jannah are opened for him so he may enter through whichever of these gates he desires.[Tirmidhi]

    10. Whoever says: “Radheetu billahi Rabba, wa bil Islaami Deena, wa bi Muhammad Nabiyya” – ‘I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, and with Islam as my Religion, and with Muhammad as my Prophet,’ Paradise would be (made) mandatory for him. [Abu Dawud]

    11. Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times (Allahumma inni as’aluk al-Jannah), then Paradise will say: “O Allah! Enter him into Paradise!” And whoever seeks protection with Allah from the Fire three times (Allahumma ajirni min an-Nar), the Fire will say: “O Allah! Protect him from the Fire!” [Tirmidhi]

    12. Whoever is easy-going, gentle and kind, Allah will make the fire forbidden for him. [Hakim]

    13. In Paradise there are rooms whose outside can be seen from the inside and the inside can be seen from the outside. Allah has prepared them for those who feed the poor, who are gentle in speech, who fast regularly and who pray at night when (other) people are asleep. [Ahmad]

    14. Narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “There is a soorah of the Qur’an, with thirty verses, that interceded for a man until he was forgiven; it is ‘Soorah Tabaarak Alladhi bi yadihi’l-mulk (Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion)’ [al-Mulk 67:1].” [Tirmidhi & Abu Dawud]

  9. Similarities between Hinduism and Islam

So the major difference between the Hindu and the Muslims is, the common Hindu says that everything is God, we Muslim say everything is God’s. ‘G’ ‘O’ ‘D’ with an apostrophe ‘S’. The major difference is the apostrophe ‘s’. If we can solve this difference of apostrophe ‘S’, the Hindus and the Muslims will be united. How would do you do it? As the Qur’an says, “Ta`alaw 'Ilá Kalimatin Sawa'in Baynana Wa Baynakum” “Come to common terms as between us and you” Which is the first term? “Alla Na`buda 'Illallah” “That we believe in only One Almighty God” Let us try and understand what the Hindu scriptures have to speak about Almighty God. It is mentioned in the Chandogya Upanishad, Chapter No. 6, Section No. 2, Verse No. 1, it says, “Ekam Evadvitiyam” It’s a Sanskrit quotation which means, “God is only one without a second.” It is mentioned in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, Chapter No. 6, Verse No. 9, “Na casya Kascij janita na Cadhipah.” “Of Him there are no parents, he has got no lords, Almighty God has got no mother, he has got no father, he has got no master, he has got no superior” It’s mentioned in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, Chapter No. 4, Verse No. 19, “Na Tasya Pratima Asti” “Of Him there is no likeness” It’s further mentioned in the Shvetashvatara Upanishad, Chapter No. 4, Verse No. 20, that “His form cannot be seen. No one can see Him with their eyes.” Amongst all the Hindu scriptures the most widely read and the most popular is the Bhagavad Gita. It’s mentioned in Bhagavad Gita Chapter No. 7, Verse No. 20, “All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship demi Gods.” Which means all materialistic people, they worship demi gods, that is the false gods besides the one true Almighty God. It’s further mentioned in Bhagavad Gita Chapter No. 10, Verse No. 3, that “He who knows me as the unborn, the beginning less, the supreme Lord of all the worlds.” Amongst the Hindu scriptures, the most sacred are the Vedas. It’s mentioned in the Yajurveda Chapter No. 32, Verse No. 3, “Na Tasya Pratima Asti” “Of Him there are no images.” Almighty God has got no images, and it further says that he’s unborn, he alone only should be worshipped. It’s mentioned in Yajurveda, Chapter No. 40, Verse No. 8, that “Almighty God is imageless and pure.” It’s mentioned in Yajurveda Chapter No. 40 Verse No. 9, “Andhatma Pravishanti ya Aasambhuti mupaste.” ‘Andhatma’ means darkness. ‘Pravishanti’ means entering and ‘Asambhuti’ means the natural things like fire, water, air. It means, “They are entering darkness those who worship the natural things like fire, water, air and the verse continues, they are entering more in darkness those who worship the created things” Like table, chair, idols etc. Who says that? Yajurveda Chapter No. 40 Verse No. 9. It’s further mentioned in the Atharvaveda, Book No. 20, Hymn No. 58, Verse No. 3, “Dev maha Asi” “Verily great is Almighty God.” And amongst the Hindu scriptures, the most sacred are the Rigveda. It’s mentioned in the Rigveda, Book No. 1, Hymn No. 164, Verse No. 46, the Shlokas which were recited by the respected Pandits, it says, “Ekkam sad vipra bhudha vidante” “Ekkam sad vipra bhudha vidante” Which means, “Truth is one, God is one, sages call him by various names.” And the same message is repeated in Rigveda, Book No. 10, Hymn No. 114, Verse No. 5, that God is one but sages call him by a variety of names.” And in Rigveda alone, in Book No. 2 Hymn No. 1 there are no less than 33 different attributes given to Almighty God, many of which were recited by the respected Pandits. One amongst them in Rigveda, Book No. 2, Hymn No. 1, Verse No. 3 is Brahamma. Brahamma is called the creator. If you translate into Arabic, it means Khaliq. We Muslims have got no objection if someone calls Almighty God as Khaliq or the Creator, but if someone says the creator is Almighty God who has got four heads and on each head is a crown, we Muslims take strong exception to it. More over, you are going against Shvetashvatara Upanishad Chapter No. 4 Verse No. 19 which says, “Na Tasya Pratima Asti” “Of Him there is no likeness” Another attribute given in Rigveda, Book No. 2, Hymn No. 1, Verse No. 3 is ‘Vishnu’. Vishnu is called the Sustainer, the cherisher. If you translate into Arabic, it is somewhat similar to Rabb. We Muslims have got no objection if someone says Almighty God is Rabb or Sustainer or Cherisher. But if someone says Sustainer, he’s Almighty God who has got four hands, one of his right hand is the Disc, the Chakra, the other hand he has the conch, he’s traveling on the bird by the name of Garuda or reclining on couch of snakes, we Muslims take strong objection to it. Moreover you are going against the Yajurveda, Chapter No. 32, Verse No. 3 which says, “Na Tasya Pratima Asti” “Of Him there are no images” If you read Rigveda, all these descriptions are not given, the attributes are given that Almighty God is creator, he’s sustainer, he’s cherisher. We have no objection with attribute, but these images are not given because it is mentioned in the Veda’s that Almighty God has got no images. It’s further mentioned in Rigveda, Book No. 8, Hymn No. 1, Verse No. 1, “Ma Chidanyadvi Sansad” “Ma Chidanyadvi Sansad” Which means, “Do not worship anyone except the one God.” It’s mentioned in Rigveda, Book No. 6, Hymn No. 45, Verse No. 16, “Ya Ekit Mushtihi” “Praise him alone, the one true God” And the Brahma Sutra of the Vedanta is “Ekam Brahm, dvitiya naste neh na naste kinchan” Which means, “Bhagwan ek hi hai doosra nahi hai, nahi hai, nahi hai, zara bhi nahi hai.”

  10. Jesus is coming back! He is has died for your sins you have to believe unto him as the Messiah and God to be accepted into heaven, All of us are sinners and it is impossible for us to be received into heaven just because of us being Good people and us doing good things and not sinning. But if you believe in Jesus you will get a ticket to go to heaven and never lose it no matter what.
