I think since christians do shirik, the punishment is them being astray to the wrong path, their souls are slowly drowning in a sense. That's why there's LGBTQ christians preachers. Allah doesn't benefit from him being worshipped but we do. Because I feel happy worshipping him and doing righteous deeds for the right intentions which is for him. If i worship anything else like charity to look good infront of people or my hand phone or money or an idol, it wouod destroy me. There's a saying where "a man who doesn't believe in god can do anything". Believing in god (the one true god) and following him will guide us to the straight path and to true happiness. May Allah guide us all and protect us from all sins. May Allah make us all die sinless and die with Allah in mind and that all the prophets peace be upon them all are messengers and slaves of Allah and not to be worshipped. Stay strong and keep remembering Allah! Do 5 daily prayers because that's when we remember him the most! Allah Akbar! Also be kind to others because only the people we hurt can forgive us because we took away their rights.
And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son! Join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed. Al-Quran (31:13)
