Questioner: My name is Ritesh and I’m a student studying in 11th Std. my question is all the religions have limitations of clothing. Let me be specific to the women ah… but they have changed with time but why is the burkha still the same? Why hasn’t that changed with time?
Dr. Zakir: The brother said that by the passage of time every religion has got clothing for women but by the passage of time the clothing keeps of changing but why the Muslim women yet wear the burkha? As far as the clothing is concerned brother in Islam there are 6 criteria for clothing. For the man it’s from the naval to the knee. That is the extent it should be covered. For the women the complete body should be covered. The only part that can be seen are the face and the hands up to the wrist. There are certain scholars who say that even this should be covered. The remaining 5 criteria’s are the same for the man and the women.
The second is that the clothes they wear it should not be so tight so that it reveals the figure, it should be lose.
The third is it should not be translucent or transparent so that you can see through.
The fourth is it should not be so glamorous so that it attracts the opposite sex.
Fifth, it should not resemble that of the unbeliever and
Sixth it should not resemble that of the opposite sex. These are basically the six criteria’s and most of these six criteria’s are even mentioned in the other scriptures.
If you read the Bible it’s mentioned in the Bible in the book of Deuteronomy ch. No. 22 verse no. 5 it says that
“the women shall not wear clothes that which pertained to a man. And a man shall not wear clothes that which pertained to a woman. All those who do this they are creating an abomination.”
It’s further mentioned in the Bible in the 1st Timothy ch. No. 2 verse no. 9 that
“the women should be dressed up with shame faceedness and sobriety, they should not wear costly array, pearls and gold.”
And further its mentioned in the first Corinthians Ch no. 11 verse no. 5 to 6 that
“the woman that prayth with the head uncovered, her head should be shaved off.”
There is no verse in the Qur’an or the Ahadith which says that the woman who does not cover her head should be shaved off. But the bible is stricter. Bible is stricter than the Qur’an. That if the woman that prays does not cover the head should be shaved off.
The same thing in the Hindu scripture. If you read the Hindu scriptures it’s mentioned in Ramayaan that when Parsuram when he comes to Ram he says to his wife Sita that he is our elder therefore lower your gaze and guard your modesty.
It’s further mentioned, if you read Rig Veda book no. 10 ch. No. 85 verse no. 30 it says that
“the woman who wears the clothes of that of a man she is defiling it. She should not wear the clothes of a man.”
Further its mentioned that in Rig Veda book no. 8 that
“Brahma has ordered that the woman should cover her head.”
So Hindu scriptures, Christian scriptures, Muslim scriptures modesty is there, covering the head is there. By the passage of time I do agree with you that Christianity now, you only see the nuns covering the head, they are called pious. If Muslim women cover their hair, they are called as subjugated. Why? 1. Give a copy of Qur'an to someone. Each time one reads from it, you gain.
2. Donate a wheelchair to a hospital. Each time a sick person uses it, you gain.
3. Participate in building a masjid or donate money for a new masjid to be built.
4. Place a water-cooler in a public place.
5. Plant a tree. You gain whenever a person or animal sits in its shade or eats from it.
6. And the easiest of all, share this message with people. Even if 1 applies to any of the above, you gain.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (?) said, "When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)."[Muslim].

Sadaqah is not only linked with money. We often think that taking out money from our earnings are Sadaqah, but there are many ways we can do it!
These are the 17 types we can take out Sadaqah;
1. Dua.
If you are just praying for the person who you care about or any person who has asked for you dua.

12. To forgive.
Forgive the people who ask for your forgiveness.
13. To give respect.
Giving respect to elders and youngsters as well as giving credit to the people who deserve it.
14. To be a part of someone’s happiness.
Being happy in someone else’s happiness, DO NOT BE JEALOUS!
15. To visit the sick.
Visiting the sick is also the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (PBUH)
16. To remove harmful things from the path.
Such as removing the stone that comes to your way.
17. To guide someone on the right way.
Guiding means, if someone you see is misguided, then guiding that person to right path.

=> Here are 7 tips from the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) to save yourself from Hellfire.
1) Performing 4 rak'aat before 'Duhr' and 4 after it
Umm Habibah the wife of the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) : She heard Allah's Messenger (Sallahu 'alayhi wa salam) saying :"Whoever maintains four Rak'aat before Zuhr and four after it, Allah makes him prohibited for the Fire." [ Sunan At-Tirmidhi 428, Grade : Sahih (authentic) ]
PS : According to the scholars, the 4 rak'aat should be performed by 2 prayers of 2 rak'aat.
2) Fasting
The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said : "Whoever fasts a day in the way of Allah, then Allah will move his face away from the Hellfire by a distance of seventy years". [ Sahih Bukhari , Muslim ]
PS : Try to fast some Mondays and Thursdays outside Ramadan in order to get further away from Hellfire In Shaa Allah.
3) Making a du'aa which will make Paradise and Hellfire supplicate for the believers
The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said :"Whoever asks Allah for Paradise three times, Paradise will say: O Allah, admit him into Paradise. Whoever seeks protection from Hellfire three times, Hellfire will say: O Allah, save him from the Hellfire.” [ Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2572, Grade : Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani ]
The following dua'a are : *Allahuma adkhilni Jannat ul Firdaws ( 3 times )
*Allahuma ajirni minan naar ( 3 times )
PS : Try to say these du'aas in every prayers
4) Whoever has faith, prays and fasts will enter Paradise whether he fights in Jihad or not
Abu Huraira reported : The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said : "Whoever believes in Allah and His Messenger, establishes prayer, and fasts the month of Ramadan will have a right upon Allah that he will be entered into Paradise whether he strives in the cause of Allah or remains in the land in which he was born.” [ Sahih Bukhari 2790 ]
5) Having a good behavior
The Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said :"Shall I not tell you for whom the Hellfire is forbidden? It is every person accessible, polite, and mild.”
[ Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2488, Grade : Hasan ]
PS : It means he is accessible to people, he is against harshness, easy-going in his character and generous in his personality.
6) Giving charity
According to Ady Ibn Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said : "Guard yourself from the Hellfire even with half of a date in charity. If he cannot find it, then with a kind word."[ Sahih Bukhari 1417 and Sahih Muslim 1016 ]
7) Crying out of fear of Allah
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (Sallalahu 'alayhi wa salam) said: “A man who weeps for fear of Allah will not enter Hell until the milk goes back into the udder, and dust produced (when fighting) for the sake of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never coexist.” [Jami' at-Tirmidhi 1633]
PS : The last part of the hadith is a metaphor for it being impossible, as in the verse where Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “and they will not enter Paradise until the camel goes through the eye of the needle” [7:40].

Excellent. These Quranic principles secure females by reducing risk of rape, publicly insult etc etc.
During prehistoric period humans garb was different and now it has changed in the 20th century.. our language too has had a major changes over the period of time .. change is one inevitable.. instead of telling people to hide behind burkhas why not tell males to not look at women with a bad intention after all that same male has a mother at home who too is a female.
Clothes don't shows modesty that's so stupid
Answer is simple bcuz people of other religion becomes more secular and open-minded with changing society driven by science and technology. Wearing burkha at 45°C in india is madness, if you sit near burkhaa clad women during summer they smell like goat due to excess sweating, it's like wearing Skirts at 5°C bcoz of my religion.

According to my research, The Holy Qur'an has 330,709 letters and for every letter recited you get 10 rewards written for you
(Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will receive one good deed as ten good deeds like it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is one letter, but rather Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.”

Al-Bukhari reported in his Sahih that Abu Said Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) told the companions:
"Are you not able to read a third of the Qur'an in one night? They found this very difficult and replied that nobody amongst us can do so. Then the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: "Allah, The One, the Self sufficient "Surah Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad (Surah – Ikhlas) equals a third of the Qur'an."
Muslim also reported that Abu Al Darda narrated: "Say, He is Allah, The One, (Surah 112 or Surah – Ikhlas) equals a third of the Qur'an." reported by Al-Thirmidhi, and Al- Albani classified it as an authentic Hadith.
So if you recite Surah – Ikhlas 3 times to will get the reward of reading the whole Qur'an (As reciting Surah – Ikhlas is 1/3 of the Holy Qur'an)
And if you recite Surah – Ikhlas 3 times you will get 3,307,090 rewards written for you. Subhanallah!

SMALL DHIKR GREAT REWARD
1) سُبْحَا نَ اللهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَخَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ. Subhanallahi wa bihamdihi, ai’dada khalqihi, wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘ar shihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi.
Reward: Recite 3 times = 6 hours of Dhikr
2) رَضِيتُ باللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِيناً، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَى اللَّهُ عَلِيهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيَّاً Radheetu billaahi Rabban, wa bil-'Islaami deenan, wa bi-Muhammadin (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallama) Nabiyyan. ((Three times))
Reward: Allah has promised that anyone who says every morning and evening will be pleased on the Day of Resurrection.
6) اللَّهُمَّ إنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ Allahuma inni as alukal jannah Meaning: Oh Allah, grant me Jannah Reward: say 3 times and Jannah itself will ask Allah to grant you Jannah
7) اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلَّمْ عَلَى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ Allahumma salli wa sallim 'alaa nabiyyinaa Muhammadin Reward: The Prophet saw said: "Who recites blessings upon me 10 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening will obtain my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.”
10) بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الَْأرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ Bismillaahil-lathee laa yadhurru ma'as-mihi shay'un fil-'ardhi wa laa fis-samaa'i wa Huwas-Samee 'ul- 'Aleem Reward: Recite 3 times. Whoever recites it in the morning will not be afflicted by any calamity before evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will not be overtaken by any calamity before morning.
11) حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَآ إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ Hasbiyallaahu laa 'ilaaha 'illaa Huwa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Adheem Reward: Allah will grant whoever recites this 7 times in the morning or evening whatever he desires from this world or the next.
12) اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِر لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ Allaahumma Anta Rabbee laa ilaaha illaa Anta, khalaqtanee wa anaa 'abduka, wa anaa 'alaa 'ahdika wa wa'dika mas-tata'tu, a'oothu bika min sharri maa sana'tu, aboo'u laka bini'matika 'alayya, wa aboo'u bithanbee faghfir lee fa'innahu laa yaghfiruth-thunooba 'illaa Anta.
Reward: Whoever recites this with conviction in the evening and dies during that night shall enter Paradise, and whoever recites it with conviction in the morning and dies during that day shall enter Paradise.
