This is very true. I have always been an empath with CPTSD and Extreme anxiety. I shouldn't be watching any of the news. But I can't help it I care. And I think it's important to know the rhetoric of all sides and distinguish truth from lies. I especially has a bias for children's suffering having been a child victim-young adult of sexual, verbal and psychological abuses. Not to mention being attacked for being a Muslim female. I stopped wearing hijab to protect myself. When I go to sleep I sometimes see Gaza children in front of my eyes. When I eat and Drink I thank God every single time and pray for those suffering without the blessings. I try my best never to waste any water at all.
Thank you, this has helped me a great deal. I’m in a depression over Gaza, and the only time I experience any real relief is when I attend protests and actions for Palestine. I think Dr Jabr is correct in speaking to the topic of vicarious trauma; this is true, and it’s helpful to hear it put into words so clearly. Thank you so much 🙏
