What is the Day of Arafah?

The Day of ‘Arafah falls on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah. On this day the pilgrims gather on the plain of Mount ‘Arafah, praying and supplicating to Allah.
The Day of ‘Arafat falls on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah. On this day the pilgrims gather on the plain of Mount ‘Arafat, praying and supplicating to Allah.
It is the day on which Allah took the covenant from the progeny of Adam.
You and I, and all of the humanity had taken a covenant before Allah in Na’maan (i.e. Arafat) and we testified that Allah is our Lord.
On this day “Allah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on The Day of Repentance and Acceptance of Supplications, about the people of Arafat. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.’” (Sahih Ahmad)
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ‘Hajj is Arafat’
(Abu Dawud).
But many believe that the virtues of this blessed day are reserved for people performing Hajj.
This is not true for this day should be celebrated by Muslims all around the world.
“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion
(Quran 5:3).
So how can we reap the benefit of this rewarding day, the best of days?
Fasting
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafat. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.”
[Sahih Muslim]
Imagine all our sins from last year and the coming year, forgiven?
What more do we want?
Making Dua
The best of supplications is the supplication on the day in which Allah (ﷺ) perfected the religion of Islam.
Make dua’ for our Ummah.
Make whatever dua’ you wish for
Seize this moment where Allah opens his doors and answers all supplication!
And Remember this specific D’ua as well:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without a partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and all praise and He is over all things omnipotent.”
May Allah Accept our good deeds!
